BioShock 4 has a myriad of expectations, and the lengthy time between releases certainly doesn’t help matters. Since 2013’s BioShock Infinite, so many fantastic new characters have made the acquaintance of gamers everywhere, from Aloy in Horizon Zero Dawn to Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2. It’s a packed industry, and BioShock’s absence is going from noticeable, to largely forgotten as the years roll by. Expectations among fans are sky-high, though, and the new BioShock 4 protagonist has a difficult task to overcome to achieve the lofty heights of their predecessor as well as the industry standard of main characters, which is only getting better....

For those who don’t know, the Steam Deck uses Proton which is a version of Linux. Up until this latest patch, users were able to enjoy the games on the Deck with seemingly no problem, but a new 2K launcher added in the patch is what appears to be causing the problems. Even so, getting a video game proposal right takes a lot of planning, and in some cases it requires some effort from the developers of said game. Mass Effect developer BioWare, for example, helped one couple get engaged by creating a completely unique level rendered in the next Mass Effect’s engine. In a truly heartwarming post on BioWare’s site the developer details the setup and the execution of the proposal....

Among the more popular suggestions for a Mass Effect “reboot” is an MMO set within that universe. Much like any series with a strong mythology and a wide variety of races, Mass Effect seems like a perfect fit. It would be incorrect to say that Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk, co-founders of BioWare, haven’t tossed around the idea of making a Mass Effect MMO, but a lot goes into that development process, and they just finished launching a pretty successful MMO in Star Wars: The Old Republic....

Both Mass Effect and Dragon Age earned a huge following for their immersive worlds and emphasis on player choice. So much so, in fact, that BioWare often finds itself answering eager questions on whether certain features from these games like the dialogue wheel will return in Anthem - which, incidentally, it won’t. The blog post from BioWare, titled “Mid-Summer Update”, goes into detail about the awards Anthem won at E3, as well as announcing a panel that the team will be staging at PAX this year to talk about how Anthem will manage to allow individual player agency in a shared multiplayer world....

According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), officers responded to a 9:15 p.m. call in the Highland Park area of the city, after receiving a call that a man in black clothing had hopped over a fence. The suspect, who is now in police custody, is also said to have been wearing a black mask at the time of the incident.
