According to BioWare General Manager Casey Hudson, the Anthem team passed its Alpha milestone last week, which means that every aspect of the game has been included to make it fully functional and playable. As explained by Hudson, now that the studio’s next title has reached this phase, BioWare’s attention will “move almost entirely to bug-fixing, testing, and tuning” in order to prepare it for launch.
While players looking forward to Anthem should be excited to learn that the game has finally hit Alpha, there’s no doubt that they’re far more thrilled at the prospect of trying the title out for themselves before it officially reaches store shelves. Last year, Anthem director Jonathan Warner promised fans that there will be a beta, but neither BioWare nor Electronic Arts have yet to provide a concrete date just yet.
Beyond the beta, however, BioWare has also assured fans that an Anthem demo period will take place at the beginning of February next year, which happens to be just a few short weeks ahead of the title’s launch. With this being the case, those who wish to give the demo a shot would do well to check out our early access guide for the forthcoming action-RPG.
Anthem is currently scheduled to launch on February 22, 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
