What is known about Ant-Man 3 is that it’s going to be following in the footsteps of the MCU properties that came before it, at least a little bit. First introduced in the Loki Disney Plus series, Jonathan Majors is set to appear as Kang the Conqueror in the character’s first big-screen appearance. He’ll bring a combination of multiversal storytelling and time travel to the film, but it appears he’s not going to be the only bad buy making an appearance, assuming that Murray is telling the truth.

Murray appeared on a recent episode of The Eli Manning Show where he briefly talked about his character in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Perhaps realizing that Marvel Studios doesn’t like those kinds of details to get out before they’ve decided “it’s time,” he didn’t say much about the character. However, when Manning asked him what his power was in the upcoming film, he spilled the beans, telling the former New York Giants quarterback that his power was “being a bad guy.”

Murray was of course the first person to leak that he was going to appear in Ant-Man 3 at all. The legendary actor didn’t specifically say he was in Quantumania, but he talked glowingly about “the director” of an upcoming Marvel superhero film and from there, MCU fans connected the dots until there was no reason to keep it a secret anymore. Now those same fans will likely start playing the guessing game on just which bad guy will appear alongside Kang the Conqueror.

Part of the reason for the mystery surrounding Murray is that there just isn’t a ton known about the plot of Ant-Man 3. The title suggests that it will in some way, shape, or form deal once again with the Quantum Realm, the part of the reality that exists between the molecules. Characters from the first two films have briefly traveled there and were able to save Janet van Dyne in the second film.

What is known about Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is that at least one of its stars is quite happy with its script. Evangeline Lilly is on record as saying that Ant-Man 3’s writer, Jeff Loveness is “one of the best” they’ve ever had.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is currently scheduled to be released on July 28, 2023.
